Interested in volunteering for The National Autistic Society? We'd love to hear from you.

From telling people in your local community about our work to making friends with someone with autism, there's plenty you can do to improve the lives of people affected by autism everywhere.

In this section

Be a befriender or mentor

A great opportunity to build a one-to-one relationship with someone directly affected by an autism spectrum disorder or a family member.

Volunteer for the Parent to Parent Service

The Parent to Parent Service is not currently recruiting volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with us in the future, please complete our online volunteer enquiry form and we will get in touch when we are recruiting again.

Volunteer in a social group

Can you spare an evening every month to volunteer in a social group for people with Asperger syndrome/high-functioning autism?

Volunteer for the Education Rights Service

If you are interested in volunteering opportunities with our Education Rights Service, please complete our online form and we will be in touch when we are recruiting.

Volunteer at an out-of-school club

Help young people with Asperger syndrome and autism develop their social skills and self-confidence by volunteering at an out of school club.

Represent people with an ASD in decision-making

We'd like to see more people with autism getting involved in governance. If you'd like to represent people with an autism spectrum disorder on committees or boards, get in touch with us.

Find or form an NAS branch in your area

NAS branches are formed by volunteers in their local area for mutual support. They may offer information and advice, fundraise, run workshops and seminars and organise respite care/holiday schemes.

Take part in surveys and research

Take part in surveys, some carried out by the NAS, which aim to find out about your experiences of living with autism and related issues.
